Gold and silver prices in Nepal are published daily, usually per tola and per 10 grams. The rate values the metal itself — what you pay a jeweller also includes making charges, wastage and VAT.

Who sets the daily rate?
The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FENEGOSIDA) announces the day's buying and selling rates for gold and silver, which dealers across Nepal follow. Rates move with international gold prices, the exchange rate of the Nepali rupee against the US dollar, and import costs.
The rates you will see
- Fine gold (99.9%) — the highest-purity gold, the reference rate most people quote.
- Tejabi gold — a lower-purity gold used in jewellery; its rate is below fine gold.
- Silver — quoted separately.
Each is shown per tola (11.6638 grams) and usually per 10 grams. Both describe the same rate: the 10-gram price is the tola price divided by 1.16638. See tola, lal and grams for the conversions.
Why there is no rate on some days
Rates are not published on Saturdays and some public holidays. On those days the last published rate still applies — KhataIN's gold and silver price page shows the latest available rate together with the date it was published.
Reading a price chart
- A daily chart shows one point per published rate. Gaps are days with no rate, not a price of zero.
- Compare rates per tola with per tola — mixing tola and 10-gram figures makes prices look very different.

What a jeweller's bill includes
When you buy or sell jewellery, the bill usually reflects:
- the metal's weight × the day's rate,
- making charges (workmanship),
- wastage,
- VAT, and
- the dealer's own terms, such as purity testing on resale.
