Bikram Sambat months vary from 29 to 32 days. The calculator counts completed years, months and remaining days between your birth date and today using KhataIN's BS calendar table, so each month's real length is used.
The Western zodiac sign comes from your Gregorian (AD) birth date — for example, August 23 to September 22 is Virgo. A traditional Nepali Janma Rashi (चन्द्र राशि) depends on the exact time and place of birth, so the calculator shows the Western sun sign.
Government forms in Nepal usually ask for your date of birth in BS as written on your citizenship certificate. Use the calculator as a guide, and check the exact cut-off date in each notice, since age limits are counted up to a specific date.
BS months start around the middle of Gregorian months and are 29 to 32 days long, so counting by months can shift the months-and-days figure by a day. The total number of days lived is the same in both calendars.
